SNEA members will be observing strike on 5th January 2006 in the sit-in mode exactly as specified in the notice served on the Management. Members who have to sign attendant registers will sign the registers but will not do work of any sort. They can also participate and totally involve themselves in programmes if any held by other fellow unions/Associations. There shall be no further confusion in this regard. |

Missing names of 142 officers from Tamilnadu included in the supplementary Eligibility list as informed by the BSNL Management in response to our letter dated 26-12-2005. Two cases of proforma promotion of Com.Atley and Com. Kaleeswaran of TN Circle settled. |

GS and representatives of MTNL , BHEL, and Oil Sector meets Shri. Arbind Modi, Jt.Secretary, Central Board of Direct Taxes in connection with the Fringe Benefit Tax proposal in the current Income Tax rules. Jt.Secretary assured the leaders that some kind of relaxation would be worked out by him for the current year. He also promised that amendment of the rules would be carried out during the next year so that sufficient relief from FBT will be available for the employees of the PSUs. |

Attention of Circle Secretaries - Even after the expiry of the deadline (15th Dec 2005) for submission of scrutinizing report of ACRs to Corporate office NO circle has completed the process. Laxity affects the future of members . Circle Secretaries may ensure that the required report may be submitted immediately so that DPC for promotion of JTOs to SDEs can take place. |

Following the consistent efforts by the Association, both in writing and in meeting, reg. implementation of promotion policy and related issues, Chairman (TC) convened a meeting of the representatives of DoT, & BSNL. The following were present. Chairman (TC), Addl. Secretary (DoT), {DoT Side} CMD, Director(HRD), Sr. DDG. (Pers.), Sr. DDG(Est.) {BSNL Side} Com. W. Seshagiri Rao Presi. Com. G.L.Jogi GS, Com. A.A.Khan V.P. Com Sukhvir Singh AGS, {SNEA(I) Side}. After Hearing Association & BSNL, it was decided to form a three member committee to look into the details of the different issues and submit the recommendation Within ONE WEEK. The Terms of reference of the committee will include all the items taken up by the GS SNEA(I) addressed to Chairman (TC) vide letter No SNEA(I)/Chairman-TC/9/12-05 Dated 1st Dec.,05. Accordingly BSNL Board nominated Shri Y.S.Bhave Addl. Secy. (DoT), as Chairman, Shri R.S.Prabhakar, Advisor (P), DoT, & Director(HRD) BSNL as members with direction to submit recommendations on the issues referred within one week. |

Our repeated letters and compulsions forced Director (HRD) to hold a meeting with the representatives of SNEA and AIBSNLEA on 30-11-2005 but at the outset itself the DDG (SR) remarked that the Associations has submitted unconditionally during the agitation in March 2005. Protesting against the utterly humiliating and insulting remarks of the DDG (SR) the SNEA representatives Com.G.L.Jogi GS and Com A.A.Khan VP were compelled to walk out of the meeting. |
